Overview & Reviews
This year the SS badge is reserved for the supercharged Monte Carlo; last year's non-supercharged SS is now the LT. The Competition Yellow Sport Appearance, Dale Earnhardt "Intimidator" Special Edition and Dale Earnhardt Jr. packages are no longer available, nor are body side moldings and the deck lid lock cylinder. OnStar is now standard equipment on all models.
- Spacious interior, low sticker price, strong acceleration with supercharged V6.
- Mediocre performance on non-supercharged models, bland interior with cheap materials, no passenger side-impact airbag, ABS not standard.

A real eye catcher! - 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By imintune777 - November 20 - 10:30 pmThe Supercharged SS Monte Carlo is a great car to drive. Acceleration and handling in rush hour traffic is a plus. This automobile will respond and handle well when other drivers have their heads where the sun dont shine. These cars do not even start smiling until they are doing about 75 miles per hour. Great gas mileage and plenty of zip. A real eye catcher also. This is our second Monte Carlo SS. We also have the 2002 model and have enjoyed both. The Supercharged SS is my baby, however!

You cant beat this car. - 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By ssmonte carlo - March 24 - 1:13 pmThis is a great car. It may be old engineering, but what this means is that is has never been back to the dealer for any problems. Fun to drive and you dont need the supercharger, which requires premium gas. .

excellent - 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Loni - January 20 - 10:00 amI have bought Monte Carlos before and loved them. I had to buy Grand Am next time because of price. I would never buy anything but a Monte Carlo again. I have bought two more since. The best car all way around. You get an excellent car for the dollar. I give the Monte Carlo an excellent rating for comfort, looks, performance, quality of driving. I live in upstate New York and the car is excellent in winter driving handles great. And all around an A no other car will ever touch the Monte Carlo in my book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first new car - 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Linda - November 14 - 8:16 pmThis is my first new car purchased solely by myself. I got what I wanted a new Monte Carlo. I fell in love with the style. As a fairly new NASCAR fan I just had to have this car. It looks like no other car out there in a world of cars that all look pretty much the same. My passengers have told me the ride is very smooth and I agree. All the new technology is a bit overwelming and takes alot of learning. I think I will enjoy this car and always learning more about it.

A great car at a great price. - 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By BigCL - November 10 - 9:50 amIve had my 2005 Monte Carlo for about 9 months now. So far its been a great car. There arent too many coupes that seat a person over 6ft very well. The Monte Carlo has plenty of headroom and leg room and. Power from the 3.4L is decent. Capable of passing on the highway without a struggle. The interior is quiet, with very little engine noise(in fact sometimes its hard to tell weather or not the car started when you turn the ignition), and I have yet to hear any wind noise even at highway speed. I would reccomend this vechilce to anyone looking for a 2dr coupe at an affordable price.

Great all around car - 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By nutsovernascar - October 18 - 10:26 amI leased this car almost 2 1/2 years ago and I am sorry the lease is almost up.The car runs and handles great. The fuel milage is incredible(30 highway and 24 local driving). That is at regular driving conditions not babying the car.I am very upset that Chevy will not be producing the Monte Carlo in 2008.

My second Monte Carlo - 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By eddiep - August 17 - 3:53 amMy first Monte Carlo was a 1977, now my 05. Both designs I like, and I like the CD player over the 8-track! Also I like the front wheel drive, better traction than back in 77.

My 4th Monte, the best yet. - 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Phil24 - May 16 - 2:00 amThis is my 4th Monte Carlo in a row, and its been the most fun to drive out of them. The supercharger gives a lot of added excitement and preformance that my 2001 SS lacked. Speaking of preformance, the car handles great in all types of adverse weather, no tendency to spin in the snow or hydroplane in the rain at all. Im a large person (66 and 300 pounds) and this car is extreamly comfortable for me to drive, both short trips and extended drives over 4 hours.

Smooth ride - 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Stick Morgan - May 7 - 4:16 amWanted to get back into a two door coupe and I am very happy with my decision to lease the SS. I think this car is sharp looking. My SS has is black with a neutral interior. I love the tan seats against the black exterior. Also has the optional silver moldings, which add a nice touch.
